Love your work mate, will be donating to this page as I used it a lot last season and will doing the same in 2017. I thought of a possible new addition in terms of points vs teams in the draft stats section, is there a way to have a table of each teams tries; attack and defence and the side of the field this happens the most? Could help in Draft comps when trying to decide which 2rf/CTW to play in your starting team each round. No worries if this is too much trouble as it sounds like it would take a while to compile it, I guess it could be done as each round happens from next season. I'm happy to help compile a spreadsheet or something? Cheers

Brasher08 Hi mate, yep it would be useful and something I thought about doing last year. There are some obvious sit/start choices like the right side attack of the Raiders and anyone playing the Knights. But yeah heaps of non obvious ones.

I added in the Jersey Number each player was named in each week to bridge the gap but there isn't any consistency, i.e. the left CTW isn't always the same jersey number. Add to that coaches playing musical chairs with selections & who plays where i.e. Tohu being named in 12 but playing in the centres. Also "in game injuries" (IGI) upset the stats as well, a player might play half the game at wing then move to FLB for instance.

Came to the conclusion I'd need to watch every game and track minutes of where each player plays which would then allow tallies of Scores For & Scores Against for Left, Centre & Right side of the field. This isn't something I can do though just with work & family commitments.

Open to suggestions though as it's a tricky one to measure but would be great to know.

"What’s the magic number?

The magic number is the value that Vapormedia uses to calculate player prices each week. Like a players break even, the value changes subtly throughout a season depending on player performances, and as such, needs to be recalculated each week. Thankfully, it’s a relatively simple formula, and it goes a bit like this –

The Magic Number Calculator

Break Even + Last two scores divided by 3.

Then Price divided by number above = MN

With this number you can predict potential price rises and plan more effectively and further ahead, which is always useful for those sorts who like to obsess over what their trade plans should be in the future."

So the magic number on the price calculator is essentially the average of all players for the week. It goes up and down depending if it was a high scoring round or not. You need to set the correct magic number in order to correctly predict the price changes. I will set it each week so you don't need to worry about it however if you know what you're doing you can adjust it manually yourself. Hope this explains it for you. cheers
